When hospital stays and serious illness take that away, Starlight is there to bring joy, comfort, and moments of escape to seriously ill children and their families. Through play, laughter and unforgettable experiences, Starlight helps sick kids cope with hospital and treatment in the moments they need it most.
Starlight is present in every children’s hospital across Australia and grants over 400 life-changing Starlight Wishes each year — giving kids something magical to hold onto during their toughest times.
The amount you choose to donate will go directly to Starlight, helping bring happiness, resilience and brighter days to children who need it most.
Imi’s Story
Seven-year-old Imi is a bright, bubbly child who has endured more than 40 major medical procedures due to Fanconi Anaemia, a rare genetic disease. Much of her life is spent in hospital, where treatments and surgeries can be frightening and isolating, causing her to miss out on many typical childhood experiences.
Through it all, Starlight has been a source of joy and comfort. Imi loves visiting the Starlight Express Room and playing with Captain Starlight, bringing moments of fun during difficult hospital stays. Her Starlight Wish - a family trip to Wish Week on the Gold Coast, gave them a much-needed break from the stress of medical life. The experience allowed them to reconnect, laugh, and simply enjoy being together.
Imi’s mum, Rachael, said the wish was exactly what their family needed, helping to heal emotional pain and create precious, happy memories they will always treasure.
